Posing couples can be tricky, but posing couples candidly can be even trickier. As a Southern Utah wedding and engagement photographer, I am here to share my tips and tricks to get those candid photos that every couple will want!
When I am posing couples, my biggest tip is to stay quiet and let the pose play out. I love to research new poses and/or prompts to try beforehand and bring them to my session. After I give my couples a prompt, I then try to be quiet, let them be in the moment for a few minutes, and then, when the pose "dies out," I know it is time to give more direction or give a new pose. You cannot expect candid moments if you are being too loud, directing those moments to transpire.
A few of my favorite prompts from this shoot were:
Hip bump walking towards me
Airplane snuggles
Wrestle/play from behind while sitting
