As a Southern Utah family photographer, I have found that incorporating poses that make taking family photos “fun” helps engage children, get their wiggles out for the more smiley photos, and make the photos feel more candid and genuine.   When coming up with some of my favorite poses, I try to think about what games kids like to play in everyday real life for fun.  A few of those poses include tag, telephone, and follow the leader.  Don’t be afraid to get these poses from all angles and eye levels to create perspective and unique focal points.
